Father and Two Sons Charged with Attempted Murder in Savage

The family members allegedly attacked the father's estranged wife's boyfriend at the woman's Savage home.

  A father and two of his sons are in police custody after they allegedly shot at and physically assaulted the boyfriend of the father’s estranged wife in Savage. Police said Robert Terrance Mobley Jr., 44, his son Robert Terrance Mobley III, 18, and Mobley’s adopted son Kevin Russell, 18, went to the home of the elder Mobley's estranged wife—who is also the 18-year-old Mobley's mother—to confront her boyfriend around 7:45 p.m. on March 19. When they arrived, the woman called police. The men kicked in a side door and entered the home, with one of the men finding the boyfriend in a second-story bedroom, according to police. The boyfriend then jumped out the second-story window onto a first-story roof to escape as Russell allegedly swung at …

Caregiver Indicted in Abuse of Disabled Man

Video of house manager allegedly striking disabled man was posted to YouTube.

A Baltimore group home worker who was identified in a video in which a mentally disabled man is seen being hit and spit upon has been indicted on multiple counts of abuse, neglect and assault by a Howard County grand jury. Donna Everett, 5600 block of Force Road, Baltimore, was arrested in early February after police were made aware of the YouTube video that appears to show her hitting and spitting in the face of a man who was arguing with another patient. The video, in which the camera person can be heard laughing in the background, has since been taken down from YouTube. Everett, 57, was working as a house manager in the group home located in the 6500 block of Quilting Way, Columbia. The home is operated by Emerge Inc., according to …

Savage MARC Station Development Moves Ahead

Developers plan to build 416 residential units, office and commercial space where a parking lot currently sits at the Savage Marc station.

  A plan to develop a 12-acre parking lot next to the Savage MARC station is moving ahead with the County Council's approval of two bills to finance the garage. The plan, now being called Annapolis Junction Town Center, is to build a 704 parking space garage where the current parking lot is. This will free up the space needed to build 416 residential units, 100,000 square feet of office space, 14,000 square feet of retail space and a 150-room hotel, according to the plan presented to the County Council. Developers have also purchased a six acre site near the parking lot that will be included in the development, according to the plan.
