Thanks for commenting. This is actually the second year in a row that the parade has gone in the opposite direction from the first 12 years. I am not sure where you watched from, but the crowds seems quite thick around Ellsworth & Fenton and along parts of Georgia Avenue.

None of the Silver spring garages will be closed for the Jazz Festival. The two parking garages closest to Veteran's Plaza have approximately 3,000 spaces between them, and most people try to park as close to as possible for events.
As more than 20,000 attendees are expected, we wanted to to let folks know that public transportation or parking in one of Silver Spring's other garages may be a better alternative.
